
Gladiators Acquire Helfrich; Release Wild

The Gwinnett Gladiators have signed forward Tyler Helfrich after he was claimed off of waivers from the Florida Everblades on October 17th. In a separate transaction, the Gladiators have released forward Calin Wild.
Helfrich did not appear in either game against Gwinnett last weekend. He played two games last season with Florida and earned an assist. He also skated in four Kelly Cup Playoff games last year but did not register a point.
The Calgary, Alberta, native skated four seasons at R.P.I from 2007-2011. He had a career year during his senior season as he notched 38 points (14 goals, 24 assists) in 38 games. He had 106 points (33 goals, 73 assists) in 135 career collegiate games.
Helfrich should be available for the Gladiators home opener against the Greenville Road Warriors at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Friday, October 21st at 7:35 p.m.
Wild was signed by Gwinnett on August 10, 2011. He did not appear in a game this season with Gwinnett.
The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
