Fresno Grizzlies News Release

FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies will open their 2008 home schedule with an eight-game homestand beginning on Friday, April 11th when they host the Tucson Sidewinders at Chukchansi Park. Fresno opens with four games against the Sidewinders, before hosting the Tacoma Rainiers for four games.

Opening Day, presented by Me-n-Ed's, will kick off the 2008 campaign in the Central Valley. Me-N-Ed's pizza will celebrate their 50th Anniversary by giving 50 lucky Grizzlies fans free pizza for an entire year. The first 1,000 fans into the ballpark will receive a free ‘Orange Out' t-shirt, compliments of Rally's. Friday marks the first Orange Out Friday of the season, where fans are encouraged to show their Grizzlies spirit by wearing orange, creating a distinct home field advantage for Fresno. Immediately following the game, Chukchansi Park will be lit up by the first Friday Night Fireworks show of the season, presented by Me-n-Ed's and Kiss Country. Fans and front office members alike will also wait in suspense for the return of Parker, the Grizzlies mascot who has exiled himself to the top of 1060 Fulton in efforts to "Pack the Park" for the home opener.

On Saturday night, the first 2,500 fans entering Chukchansi Park will receive a Grizzlies hat featuring the new ‘F-Slash' logo, courtesy of Ahart Benefit Insurance Services. Also on Saturday, fans are encouraged to donate to the Dollars for Diapers campaign to support the St. Agnes Holy Cross Women's Shelter. The first afternoon game of the season will be on Sunday, April 13th at 2:05 pm when every fan in attendance will receive a 2008 Magnet Schedule thanks to Frazee Paint and hot dogs will cost just 25 cents all afternoon long courtesy of Evergood Fine Foods. Prior to Sunday's contest, fans will have the opportunity to get autographs from selected Grizzlies players on the concourse presented by ABC 30, and Kids Run the Bases at Chukchansi Park following the game, thanks to Del Taco.

Monday's day game at 12:05 pm wraps up the four-game series with Tucson on "Making the Grade Day" at the ballpark. April 14th will also be the first opportunity for fans to take advantage of Wienerschnitzel Monday Madness deals where 2 tickets, 2 hot dogs, 2 sodas, and 2 free Island Waterpark passes cost just $14.

Tuesday, April 15th is the first Tecate Taco Tuesday of the 2008 season. Fans will be able to purchase $2 tacos, taquitos, churros all game long, and $2 16 oz. Tecate beers until 8:00pm. April 16th will mark the debut of Way Back Wednesdays presented by The Fresno Bee where kids, seniors and military personnel get $1 tickets, while Thursday sees the return of the behemoth event known as Thirsty Thursday at the ballpark as fans can enjoy $1 Tecate Light beers (through the end of the 5th inning) and $1 sodas all game long.

The eight-game homestand will conclude on Friday, April 18th with a full evening of fun. The first 1,000 fans into the Park, as with every Friday during the 2008 season, will receive an "Orange Out" t-shirt, thanks to Rally's. During the game however, the Grizzlies will not be wearing orange, as they don Fresno's first theme jersey of the season, for Autism Awareness. Following the game the Autism Awareness jerseys will be auctioned off, and Friday Night Fireworks, presented by CBS 47 and Mega 97.9, will cap the evening's festivities.

The regular season at Chukchansi Park begins on April 11th when Fresno hosts the Tucson Sidewinders in Pacific Coast League action. For more information on the Grizzlies game schedule and promotional calendar, please call 559.320.HITS or visit fresnogrizzlies.com.
