Bees Set for Home Opener

Salt Lake City (April 10, 2008) - After opening the Pacific Coast League season on the road, the Salt Lake Bees return to Franklin Covey Field to host the Portland Beavers Friday night at 6:35 p.m. in the team's 2008 home opener.

The Bees have gone a perfect 7-0 on the road, including a four-game sweep of the Las Vegas 51s while looking to sweep the four-game series against the Tucson Sidewinders tonight before coming home. The streak sets a franchise record for most consecutive wins to start a season as well as the franchise record for most consecutive road wins.

In Friday's opener, right-handed Kasey Olenberger (1-0, 2.57) will make his second start of the season for Salt Lake. Last season the right-hander led the Bees with 116 strikeouts en route to a 10-7 record.

The opening four-game series against the Beavers will include magnetic schedules courtesy of AIG on April 11, stocking caps courtesy of Zero Fatalities on April 12 and a business day lunch special for the 12:05 p.m. game on April 14.

The Salt Lake Bees' opening home stand begins with the Portland Beavers on April 11-14 and ends with the Las Vegas 51s on April 15-18. For more information about Bees season tickets, which start as low as $7 per game, please call 325-BEES.
