
Sidewinders Swept By Salt Lake After 10-1 Loss

Tucson, AZ - The Tucson Sidewinders finished up their series with Salt Lake with a 10-1 loss on Thursday night at Tucson Electric Park, completing a 4-game sweep at the hands of the Bees and extending Tucson's losing streak to seven games.
Salt Lake took the early lead in the first inning, scoring one run off a Kendry Morales single to right that brought home Terry Evans from second.
The Bees got back on the board in the third with a Matt Brown RBI double and Brandon Wood 2-run home run, his third of the season. Bee's Matt Brown added two more runs in the 4th from another double that scored two runs to make the score 6-0 off of Sidewinders starter Juan Gutierrez.
Reliever Jon Coutlangus, recently acquired from the Cincinnati Reds, came on in relief of Gutierrez and allowed 3 runs in the Sidewinders and Diamondbacks organization debut.
The Bees held Tucson scoreless until the bottom of the ninth when Donnie Kelly broke up the shout out with a sacrifice fly to right that scored Tim Raines, Jr.
Kelly finished the night 2-for-3 with a double and RBI to raise his season batting average to .310. Tim Raines, Jr. remained hot with 3 hits in the contest, giving him a .522 average for the homestand.
The Sidewinders travel to Fresno where they will take on the Grizzles Friday night starting at 7:05 p.m. local Tucson time. LHP Evan MacLane (0-1, 5.40) is scheduled to start for Tucson. Left-hander Pat Misch (1-0, 1.50) will throw for the Grizzles. The game will air live on COOL 1450 beginning at 6:50 p.m.
