Gateway Grizzlies News Release

KALAMAZOO, MI- Eric Ridener and Zack Gray teamed up to no-hit the Kalamazoo Kings Saturday night as the Gateway Grizzlies defeated the Kings 5-2 in front of 1,697 fans at Homer Stryker Field. It is the second no-hitter in Grizzlies history.

Ridener (2-2), making his first start since 2004, was starting in place of the injured Adam Revelette. He went seven innings and struck out 10. Gray tossed the eighth and ninth innings striking out the final two hitters he faced, for his eighth save.

The Grizzlies (40-34) got a pair of RBIs each from Michael Campbell and Mike Breyman. Campbell was 2-4. Breyman was 1-4. Chris Pecora was 2-4 with two runs scored.

The Kings dropped to 46-28 with the loss.

The Grizzlies will go for the sweep of the three-game series Sunday afternoon. Game time is 3:05 p.m. central time
