Kings lose 5-2
August 9, 2008 - Frontier League (FL)
Kalamazoo Kings News Release
The Kalamazoo Kings were no-hit by the Gateway Grizzlies Saturday night in a 5-2 loss. Grizzlies starter Eric Ridener threw seven innings and struck out ten Kings. Zack Gray came in for two innings of relief to close down the no-hitter. Interestingly, the Kings had a 2-1 lead for half the game as they scored twice in the first inning due to a combination of walks, hit batters, sacrifices, and errors. Joe DiPietro turned in another solid performance and turned the game over to the bullpen after six innings. Dan Baerlocher came in the seventh and walked three Grizzlies en route to giving up two runs, which ended up being enough to win.
