
Grizzlies move to .500 with fifth straight win

The Gateway Grizzlies (40-40) won their fifth straight Tuesday night, defeating the Mid-Missouri Mavericks (25-53) 11-3 at GMC Stadium. The five-game win streak is the team's longest of the year.
The win moves the Grizzlies to .500 for the first time this season. A Rockford loss puts the Grizzlies two games back of Kalamazoo and Rockford who are now tied for first in the West Division.
Nick Szcsur (5-5) went 6 2/3 innings for the win. Szczur allowed three runs on just three hits. He struck out three.
Ryan Sullivan led the way for the Grizzlies. Sullivan was 2-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Ben Margalski was 1-3 with a home run and two RBIs. Phil Warren was 2-4 with two RBIs. Oscar Vargas 2-3 with two RBIs.
The Grizzlies will go for their second consecutive series sweep Wednesday night at GMC Stadium.
