Utah Grizzlies News Release
The Grizzlies (1-10-0-1) and the San Antonio Rampage (6-7-2-1) meet tonight for the second time this season and in the first of back-to-back games that will close out a five-game home stand for the Grizzlies. In the only meeting thus far between the two clubs, the Rampage came out on top by a 6-1 margin in the SBC Center on October 16. This season, Utah is 0-7-0-1 in their eight home games.
Utah will have two new players in the line-up tonight as center Jarrod Skalde returns to the Grizzlies and defenseman Terry Virtue will suit up in his first action with Utah this season. Both players were acquired in the past few days from Springfield in an exchange of players. Jason Jaspers and Nikos Tselios headed east to Massachusetts.
Skalde returns to the Grizzlies after leading the club in scoring last season with 23 goals and 35 assists (58 points). Virtue is in his 14th season spending most of his playing time with the Worcester IceCats where he left after last season as the franchises' all-time leader in points, games played and penalty minutes.
San Antonio is just 1-3-0-1 in their last five games but are led by a talented group of young prospects including Jay Bouwmeester, Nathan Horton and Stephen Weiss. The Rampage serve as the AHL affiliate of the Florida Panthers. Former Grizzlies Ryan Jardine, Eric Beaudoin and Serge Payer are also members of the Rampage.
Next Game: The Grizzlies will host San Antonio tomorrow night at the 'E' Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 PM (MT).
