
Worcester Recalls Goalie Alfie Michaud

WORCESTER, MA â St. Louis Blues Senior Vice President/General Manager and Worcester IceCats General Manager of Hockey Operations Larry Pleau announced today that the IceCats have recalled goaltender Alfie Michaud from their ECHL affiliate, the Peoria (IL) Rivermen.
Prior to his recall, Michaud had appeared in six games for the Rivermen checking in with a record of 2-3-1, a 2.97 goals against average and a .913 save percentage. The 28-year old was named the 2002-2003 ECHL Goaltender of the Year, accumulating a record of 20-4-4, including a 2.10 GAA and a .927 save percentage while with Peoria. A native of Selkirk, Manitoba the former University of Maine backstop is now in his sixth season as a professional. In addition to playing for the Rivermen, he has also seen time with the Syracuse Crunch, Vancouver Canucks, Kansas City Blades, Reading Royals, Manitoba Moose and last season with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers of the German Elite League.
The IceCats host the Portland Pirates on Wednesday, Lowell Lock Monsters on Friday and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers on Saturday. All three DCU Center games will have a start time of 7:05 PM.
