WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH- The Grizzlies snapped their eight game home winless streak on Tuesday night as they defeated the San Antonio Rampage 2-1 in a shootout. David LeNeveu made 31 saves earning his second shootout victory of the season.

After a scoreless first period, the Rampage used a dirty goal to get on the board in the second frame. Chris Nielsen scored his first goal of the season assisted by Ryan Jardine and Joel Kwiatkowski.

Utah battled back in the third period at the 11:07 mark with a power play goal by Keith Ballard, his first professional goal. The goal marked the fourth straight game the Grizzlies have scored a power play tally.

Neither team could muster any other offense in regulation so the game headed to overtime where the best chances came in the final 10 seconds when former Grizzly Eric Beaudoin hit the post just missing the chance to break San Antonio's three-game losing skid.

After the five-minute overtime, the game went to a shootout where Utah was 1-1 coming into the game. Jeff Taffe scored all three times in the shootout, which went 11 rounds. Kiel McLeod also scored for the Grizzlies but Taffe's third goal served as the game winner beating Travis Scott who made 34 saves in the losing effort. LeNeveu stopped eight of 11 shooters making him 13 of 16 on the season.

The team's will meet again tomorrow night at the 'E' Center with face-off scheduled for 7:05 PM.
