
Grizzlies hockey a "Cool" Night Out

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies announced today that their theme for the 2008-2009 season is: A "COOL" NIGHT OUT. The team also announced their 2008-2009 promotional schedule. Opening weekend for the Grizzlies is Friday and Saturday, October 24 and 25 versus the Alaska Aces at 7:05 p.m. at the E-Center. The team opens the season Saturday in Idaho.
Tickets are available online at www.utahgrizzlies.com, the E-Center box office, any Ticketmaster location and online by calling (801) 325-SEAT.
"Our goal as an organization continues to be to provide anyone who walks through our doors with a great experience that will make them excited for the next Grizzlies home game," said Grizzlies President Jim McKinnon. "Head Coach Kevin Colley has another exciting hockey team and we are also pleased with the entertainment and concession components we have in store for this season off the ice as well. With ticket starting at $9, we feel we have the best three hour entertainment value in town."
All seven Wednesday night games will feature $2 hot dogs, fries, Pepsi products and draft beers courtesy of 107.9 The Mix and U-92. In addition, students who present their activity cards at the box office will receive $5 tickets in corner and center plaza lower bowl seating. "With seven games on Wednesdays, this is a great area for us to build a consistent program that fans and students can look forward to coming every Wednesday," said McKinnon. The first Wednesday night home game is Wednesday, November 5.

The Utah Grizzlies, of the ECHL, celebrate their 15th anniversary season in 2008-2009. Owned and operated by the Elmore Sports Group, the Grizzlies enter their second season and sixth overall as an affiliate of the New York Islanders. South Jordan resident and former Islander Kevin Colley enters his first season as the Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations after serving as Jason Christie's Assistant Coach in 2007-2008 as the team advanced to the National Conference Finals. The Grizzlies play all home games at the E-Center of West Valley City, which hosted hockey during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
