
Condors announce Opening Night roster, alternate captains

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced their 2008-09 Opening Day Roster. The Condors open the season on the Mercy and Memorial Hospitals Home Ice at Rabobank Arena on Saturday, Oct. 18 against the Ontario Reign.
The Condors start the season with 23 players on their roster, featuring D Scott Balan, LW Bobby Bolt, F Dave Bonk, F Matt Caruana, LW Mark Derlago, D Martin Frechette, G Yutaka Fukufuji, F Liam Huculak, D Sean Hurley, F Andrew Ianiero, D Chris Kaufman, F Charlie Kronschnabel, G Dave McKee, F Tylor Michel, D Tom Morrow, RW Chad Painchaud, G Joey Perricone, F Matt Pope, F Dale Reinhardt, RW Dany Roussin, F Ryan Salvis, D Tyler Scott, and D Andrew Thomas.
Eight players on the roster have been reassigned to the Condors by AHL clubs - Bolt, Caruana, Hurley, Kronschnabel, McKee, Painchaud and Thomas from the Iowa Chops, Anaheim's AHL affiliate, and Derlago from the Manitoba Moose.
Derlago and Fukufuji start the season as inactive, and Pope is currently on the 3-day IR, though he will be eligible to be activated on Saturday.
The Condors will start the season with three alternate captains - D Scott Balan, F Andrew Ianiero and D Tyler Scott (pictured left to right).
The Condors Coach's Show kicks off tonight on ESPN Radio 1230 from its new location at the Hungry Hunter at 3580 Rosedale Hwy and at its new time from 5 to 6 p.m. This week's Coach's Show will feature D Tyler Scott, Head Coach Marty Raymond and is hosted by the "Voice of the Condors" Kevin Bartl.

Opening Night against the Ontario Reign is just 2 days away, on Saturday, Oct. 18. Join the Anaheim Ducks promo team, Power Players, and mascot Wild Wing for a party on the plaza before the game, with the Ducks Bounce House and Inflatable Slapshot, equipped with a radar gun! Plus, everyone in attendance will get a Condors magnet schedule, sponsored by ESPN Radio 1230 and Mercy & Memorial Hospitals. The party starts at 5 p.m., doors open at 6 p.m., puck drops at 7 p.m.
Individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased through the Rabobank Arena Box Office, which is open from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Saturday with extended hours on game days. Tickets may also be purchased by phone at 322-2525, online at www.bakersfieldcondors.com, or at any Ticketmaster location.
