Grizzlies Finish Trip With Dramatic 6-4 Win In Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona - The Utah Grizzlies (23-22-6-9) scored a shorthanded goal with 1:32 left in regulation to take a 5-4 lead before prevailing 6-4 Sunday evening at US Airways Center. Utah finishes their eight-game road trip winners of two of their final three.

Tyler Wooddisse scored his first three goals with Utah for his first professional hat trick in the victory, including the game-winning goal. Tom May (22) scored Utah's empty-net goal following a Phoenix timeout as Rob Hennigar finished off his four-point night with an assist as Utah took a 6-4 lead.

Utah took a 1-0 lead 1:29 into the first and never trailed, though the game had three ties at 2-2, 3-3, and 4-4.

In the third period tied at four, Utah killed five-straight RoadRunners power-plays including a five-minute major for elbowing called at 14:24 of the period that also put them shorthanded five-on-three for 19 seconds.

Mike Mole stopped 30 of 34 shots for his 15th win of the year.

Along with Hennigar (one goal, three assists); May (one goal, two assists) and Tim Verbeek (one goal, two assists) also had multiple-point games.

The Grizzlies return home Wednesday to host Idaho at 7:05 p.m. at the E-Center.
