Bakersfield Condors News Release
ONTARIO, Calif. - Seven different players scored for the Ontario Reign in a 7-3 victory over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 9,659 fans at Citizens Business Bank Arena Saturday night. The loss snapped Bakersfield's four-game winning streak and six-game road winning streak, but still leaves the Condors a league-best 12-3-1 in their last 16.
The Condors (26-28-7, 59pts) jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a tally on a delayed penalty. C Bruce Graham fired home his 20th of the season at 7:17 to give Bakersfield the advantage. Almost immediately afterward, however, Ontario (32-22-4, 68pts) went on the power play, and converted to tie the score. RW Geoff Walker notched his 18th of the season to make it 1-1. G Dave McKee stopped 16 first period shots for the Condors, while Ontario G Jeff Zatkoff faced seven opening frame shots by Bakersfield.
Bakersfield pushed back in front in the second frame, with a goal by F Andrew Ianiero, his 16th of the season, at 7:47. The Reign answered less than a minute later to tie it up once again with a tally by D Chad Starling at 8:13. They then jumped out to a two-goal lead with goals at 9:24 and 13:20. They held Bakersfield to just seven shots in the period again, and maintained a 29-14 shot lead through 40 minutes of play.
The Reign blew the game wide open in the third period, adding a pair of power play tallies and lighting the lamp three more times. The Condors managed one more late tally, with RW Liam Huculak potting his fourth of the season with just over two minutes left on the clock.
