Grizzlies Finish off Regular Season with Impressive Win

SAUGET, IL - The Gateway Grizzlies finished off the regular season on a high note with an 8-3 win against the Rockford RiverHawks Sunday night at GCS Ballpark.

A crowd of 5.859 saw the Grizzlies win their 57th game of the season, which is the second most in team history. Gateway won three of their last four games in the regular season.

Gateway (57-39) picked up three home runs, including two from Rogelio Noris to cruise to the victory. Noris drove in four runs while collecting his third multi home run game of the season. Landon Hernandez picked up the other Grizzlies home run.

Noris, John Shelby, Jerod Yakubik and Richie Jimenez Jr. all had multi-hit games for Gateway.

Grizzlies right-hander Paul Tremlin (7-4) got the start and fired five scoreless innings. Tremlin only allowed four hits while striking out six batters.

Phillip Reamy and Zac Treece both threw scoreless innings of relief.

The West Division champions now move on to the postseason where they will take on the Florence Freedom in game one of the divisional series on Wednesday night at GCS Ballpark. Right-hander Tim Brown (12-2) makes the start for the Grizzlies. First pitch is set for 6:35 CT.
