
Grizzlies Fall In Victoria

Victoria, British Columbia - The Victoria Salmon Kings defeated the Utah Grizzlies (14-14-0-3) 5-1 Thursday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
Utah fell behind 1-0 at 9:13 of the first on a Victoria power-play goal. The first period featured 7 combined power-plays with Utah going 0-3.
The Grizzlies tied the game at 1:15 of the second with a power-play goal of their own from Olivier Labelle (11) assisted by Scott Burt. Labelle extended his scoring streak to six with the score.
The Salmon Kings responded with four five-on-five goals past the midway point of the game to claim the 5-1 win.
Utah and Victoria each finished with 34 shots.
Utah went 1-9 on the power-play and 6-7 on the penalty-kill.
Nathan Lawson stopped 29 of 34 Victoria shots on the loss dropping to 8-5-0-1.
The Grizzlies continue their seven-game road trip Saturday in Victoria at 8:05 p.m. and Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
Utah returns home Friday, January 11 and Saturday, January 12 hosting Idaho at the E-Center.
