Grizzlies Enter 4th-Straight Week Atop West Division

This Week

Thursday: Utah at Tulsa, 6 p.m.

Saturday: Utah at Allen, 6 p.m.

The Situation

After a pair of wins against Allen over the weekend, the Grizzlies enter the week at 11-5-2-0 and holding the first place spot in the West Division entering the fourth-straight week.

Kozun, Rawlings Earn First Wins In Goal

Following the call-up of 9-1-1-0 goaltender Ryan Faragher on Monday; Taran Kozun and Chris Rawlings stepped in and each earned their first wins of the season over the weekend against Allen. Kozun, a 21-year-old rookie, stopped 33 of 36 and 28 of 30 over the final two periods in Friday's 7-3 win for his first professional victory. Chris Rawlings improved to 9-2-0-1 in his last 12 ECHL starts by stopping 26 of 28 shots in Saturday's 4-2 win. Rawlings stopped two breakaways from the ECHL's leading scorer Chad Costello in the contest.

What A Weekend

Bryan Moore, on an AHL contract with Anaheim, put up seven points in two games over the weekend on two goals and five assists. He had two goals and three assists in his return to the lineup Friday after rejoining Utah from San Diego. Saturday, Moore tallied assists on Utah's first two goals. Overall this year, he has scored in all four games played with the Grizzlies and has two goals and seven assists.

Matt Berry

Grizzlies rookie Matt Berry has now scored in 12 of 14 games played with Utah and now has eight goals and eight assists for 16 points in 14 games. Berry is tied for the rookie lead with eight goals and is tied for the ECHL rookie lead averaging 1.14 points-per-game. Berry returned to the lineup over the weekend after playing three games in San Diego during a call-up.

D-Man Update

Connor Hardowa has two goals in his last four games, leads Utah and is second among ECHL defensemen with a plus-13. Eric Knodel scored Utah's first goal in both games this past weekend and is second in the ECHL with a plus-eleven in November. Knodel has two goals and four assists for six points in his last eight games and has been called-up to San Diego two separate times this season.

Rookie Added

21-year-old rookie Roberts Lipsbergs, scored a goal in both games over the weekend for Utah, including Saturday's game-winner to make it 3-2 Utah in the third period. He was acquired for future considerations from Adirondack on Thursday.

Another Shorthanded Goal

With two shorthanded goals Friday, the Grizzlies are now tied with Orlando for the ECHL lead in shorthanded goals with six and have scored shorthanded five times in the last nine games. Bryan Moore scored both shorthanded goals Friday as he became the fourth player in team history to record four shorthanded goals in games.

Power-Play

Utah is four for their last 17 on the power-play after Head Coach/General Manager Tim Branham's adjustments during the team's trip to Rapid City two weeks ago.

Back To The Road

The Grizzlies will look to build on their 7-1-1-0 road record this weekend as they make their first-ever trips to Tulsa, Oklahoma and Allen, Texas.

The Grizzlies team with Salt Lake City Comic Con for Star Wars Night. The Grizzlies encourage fans to come in costume. The team's Star Wars uniforms will be auctioned off live after the game for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

On The Radio

-The Grizzlies Minute has the latest news of the day every day just after 5:20 p.m. during "Gunther and Ben in the Afternoon" on 1320 KFAN.

-Head Coach Tim Branham makes his weekly appearance on 1320 KFAN every Friday at 9:05 a.m.

-"Voice of the Grizzlies" Adrian Denny joins Gunther and Ben every Friday at 3:30 p.m. during the "Wasatch Whiparound"
