Grizzlies Continues 6 Game Homestand this Wednesday

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies are tied for the lead in the Mountain Division and continue the 6 game homestand this Wednesday, Friday and Saturday against the division rival Allen Americans.

Over 10 thousand dollars were raised for the Angel's Hands Foundation from the jersey's that were auctioned off after the Grizzlies 4-0 win over the Indy Fuel. Saturday's game was the largest crowd of the season as 8,140 were in attendance.

The Grizzlies won 2 of 3 games against the Indy Fuel last week. On Wednesday, November 14th Tim McGauley scored 2 goals and Turner Ottenbreit and Jake Marchment each scored for Utah in a 4-3 win. On Friday night, Fuel goaltender Matt Tomkins stopped 28 of 30 Utah shots in an Indy 3-2 victory. Joe Cannata was 30 for 30 on saves and had a performance worthy of a documentary in the Grizzlies 4-0 victory over the Indy Fuel on November 17th.

Utah has a 7-0-3 record against Mountain Division opponents, picking up standings points in each game.

Kevin Carr and Joe Cannata each has a winning record for Utah. Carr is 4-0-1 on the year and Cannata is 5-2-2 for the Grizzlies, who has a record of 9-2-3 and has registered standings points in 12 of 14 games.

Sorry to bury the lead but forward Caleb Herbert has played a huge role in the Grizzlies success. Herbert leads the league with 13 goals as well as leading in points with 23. Herbert has a goal in 11 of the 13 games he's played in. Herbert also is tied for the league lead with 5 power play goals. The goal he scored last Saturday vs Indy was a short handed goal.

Defenseman Kevin Davis leads the team with a Plus-8 on the season. Davis leads all defenseman with 15 points and also leads with 14 assists. Davis has 7 power play assists with is tied for 2nd most in the league. Among those he's tied with is Cole Ully, who was sent to the AHL's Colorado Eagles last Thursday after a 2 assist performance for Utah.

Austin Carroll has registered a point in 10 straight games. Carroll has 5 goals and 9 assists on the year. Carroll had 1 goal and 2 assists last week vs Indy and was a + 2 for the week.

Utah was 2 for 15 on the power play last season, but still leads the league with at 26.5 percent. That's a 4.8 percent lead over the next best ratio in the league (Atlanta Gladiators). The Grizzlies penalty kill was a perfect 6 for 6 and also had a short handed goal in the 4-0 win over Indy last Saturday. Utah is tied for 4th on the penalty kill at 87.5 percent.

Tim McGauley had a great performance last Wednesday vs Indy with 2 goals. Tim is tied with Matt Berry for 2nd in the team with 6 goals each. Berry has 4 goals in his last 4 games, including goals in back to back games.
