WALLEYE NOTES

Defense does it for another perfect week: Toledo held both Wheeling and Fort Wayne to one goal apiece as the Walleye posted a pair of 2-1 wins over the week. Kayden Fulcher turned aside a career best 32 shots in Toledo's 2-1 at Wheeling on Tuesday, while Greg Wolfe turned in a goal and an assist in Saturday's 2-1 win over Fort Wayne.

New record achieved at 10 straight: On the strength of Saturday's 2-1 win over Fort Wayne, the Walleye have set a new record for consecutive wins at 10 straight. The previous record was nine straight set by the 2016-17 team from November 11 through December 9, 2016. The 10 straight ties the longest Toledo ECHL mark last reached by the Storm from January 21 through February 18, 1996.

Best Walleye start ever: With an 11-1-1 start to the season, this year's Walleye team is off to the best 13 game start in Walleye history. That ties the 2002-03 Toledo Storm team that was also 11-1-1 after their first 13 games of a season. That team stretched its run out to 12-1-1 before taking a second loss.

Grabbing the quick start: Toledo has scored the first goal in nine straight games dating back to October 24 at Cincinnati. The hot starts have led the Walleye to a scoring advantage of 15-6 in the opening period.

Three of Four: The Walleye posted another standing room only crowd of 8,300 on Saturday night-- selling out the Huntington Center in three of the four games played at home this season. Toledo is averaging over a sellout on the season at 7,441 per contest.

Black Friday in Toledo: A busy four days for the Walleye starts on Wednesday with a trip to Indianapolis. The Walleye lost a 4-3 overtime game to the Fuel on October 20. Friday night Toledo will be home to host the Brampton Beast in the second meeting of the season after the Walleye outscored Brampton 8-6 on November 11 on the road. Saturday completes the week with a trip to Wheeling where Toledo just won a 2-1 affair last week.
