Utah Grizzlies News Release
West Valley City and the Utah Grizzlies are pleased to announce that on Friday, October 18 at 10:00 am that 3100 South will officially become Grizzlies Boulevard.
"As a city we wanted to show our enthusiasm for our hometown professional sports team," said City Manager John Patterson. "The Grizzlies are the anchor tenant in the city-owned E-Center and this act of the City Council shows that our community is firmly behind the team."
The first sign will be unveiled at the corner of 3100 South and Decker Lake Drive (northeast of the E-Center). All signs on 3100 South between 1300 West and 5600 West in West Valley City will signal Grizzlies Boulevard.
"The Grizzlies are very appreciate of West Valley City and feel it is our duty and honor to be the professional sports catalyst in the community," said Grizzlies' President Dave Gasaway. "To be honored and recognized in this fashion is very rewarding to our entire organization."
On hand to unveil Grizzlies Boulevard will be Carolynn Burt of the West Valley City Council and Grizzbee, the official mascot of the Utah Grizzlies.
