Utah Grizzlies News Release

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH - The Utah Grizzlies National Hockey League (NHL) affiliate, the Dallas Stars, announced today that they have re-assigned goaltender Ron Tugnutt to the Grizzlies. This comes after Dallas activated the veteran from the injured reserve (groin).

Tugnutt, 36, was re-called from Utah on January 15 and placed on the injured reserve after suffering a groin injury with the Grizzlies. Tugnutt played in three games with Utah posting a 1-2-0 record with a 3.36 goals against average. In five games with Dallas this season, the 5-11, 165-pound goaltender went 1-3-0 with a 2.57 goals against average.

The move comes three days after Grizzlies rookie netminder Dan Ellis was re-called to Dallas marking his first NHL call-up. Ellis dressed but did not play in last night's 4-4 tie by Dallas versus the New York Islanders.

The Grizzlies will host the Cleveland Barons on Saturday night with face-off scheduled for 7:05 PM.
