Houston Aeros News Release
Houston, TX - Bill Heard Chevrolet and the Houston Aeros will be hosting the fifth Annual Fort Bend Woman of the Year Luncheon at Safari Texas Ranch on June 3, 2004, benefiting The Fort Bend Educational Foundation and the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation.
"It's exciting to see how this has grown into such an incredible event," says Susan Neuhalfen, executive director of Houston Aeros Charities. "Not only are we honoring the women who make such a difference in our community, we are benefiting our most important asset â our children."
Forty-five women will be honored in the categories of Community Service, Executive Leadership, and School Volunteer. The nominees must live and/or work in Fort Bend County. More than 60 women were nominated last year and 400-plus attended the luncheon honoring them. An even larger crowd is expected this year.
Through fundraising activities, charitable drives, and financial grants or donations, Houston Aeros Charities provides assistance throughout Houston and the surrounding areas to charitable organizations that serve seriously ill, disabled, or disadvantaged youth and their families.
The Fort Bend Education Foundation and the Lamar Educational Awards Foundation benefit the students of Fort Bend ISD and Lamar ISD by providing funds to support innovative academic projects and staff developmental activities through grants for teachers and schools.
