Andy Hilbert recalled by Boston Bruins

The Providence Bruins announced today that left wing Andy Hilbert has been recalled by the Boston Bruins and could make his NHL season debut in the team's game tonight in Ottawa. Hilbert, now playing in his third professional season out of the University of Michigan, had 1-2-3 totals and 16 PIM in 12 games with Providence. He made his 2003-04 season debut on January 10 in Springfield, after missing the first 37 games of the season due to a groin injury sustained in training camp.

Hilbert, a 22-year-old native of Howell, Michigan, tallied 35-35-70 totals in 64 games with Providence last season. He led the team and tied for third in the AHL in goal-scoring, and was selected to his second consecutive appearance in the AHL All-Star Classic. Hilbert has 62-64-126 totals and 209 PIM in 148 career AHL games, all with Providence. He is tied for sixth in goals in franchise career history, and 12th in points. Hilbert also has 1-3-4 totals and 9 PIM in 20 career NHL games, all with the Boston Bruins. Hilbert was Boston's third pick, 37th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Providence Bruins' next home game will be played on Friday, February 13 at 7:05 p.m., when they host the Worcester IceCats. They will also host the Manchester Monarchs on Sunday at 4:05 p.m., and the Norfolk Admirals on Monday at 4:05 p.m. Friday's game will be televised live on COX 3.
