Grizzlies Announce 2004-05 Opponents

West Valley City, UT- The American Hockey League (AHL) announced on Tuesday the opponent match-ups for the 1120 AHL games to be played during the 2004-05 season. Each AHL club will play an unbalanced 80-game schedule consisting of 40 home dates and 40 road dates. The AHL regular season begins on October 13th and concludes on April 17th.

The Grizzlies will have 12 different opponents this season including 56 match-ups within the Western Division. Utah will face the defending Calder Cup Champion Milwaukee Admirals 10 times and fellow division rivals Chicago, San Antonio and Houston 10 times each as well. Both Cincinnati and Grand Rapids, also Western Division foes, are on the Grizzlies schedule eight times each.

Utah will face just two teams outside their division within the Western Conference including Cleveland (four times) and Manitoba (four times).

From the Eastern Conference, the Grizzlies will face Manchester, Worcester, Hartford and Bridgeport each four times. All four teams were on the Grizzlies schedule last season with Utah managing to post a 5-7-1-3 mark including an impressive 4-0-1-1 road record versus the three Atlantic Division teams (Hartford, Worcester and Manchester).
