AHL Announces Schedule Format

Syracuse, NY (July 6, 2004) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the American Hockey League has released its schedule format for the 2004-05 season.

The Crunch will play 44 games against their North Division foes (Rochester 12, Cleveland 8, St. John's 8, Hamilton 6, Toronto 6 and Manitoba 4). Syracuse also has 10 contests against the West Division (Chicago 2, Cincinnati 2, Houston 2, Milwaukee 2 and San Antonio 2). In addition, the Crunch will face-off against the East Division 26 times (Binghamton 8, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 8, Albany 4, Hershey 4 and Philadelphia 2). Syracuse will not face any team in the Atlantic Division during the regular season.

The AHL's 69th season will comprise a total of 1,120 games, with each of the league's 28 members playing an unbalanced 80-game schedule, including 40 home dates and 40 road dates and featuring traditional and regional rivalries.

The regular season will begin on Wednesday, October 13, and concludes on Sunday, April 17.
