Cincinnati RailRaiders News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The American Hockey League Board of Governors has approved the schedule format for the 2004-05 regular season. The format will see the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks face the top prospects for the Atlanta Thrashers, Dallas Stars, Detroit Red Wings, Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Nashville Predators and Phoenix Coyotes in 26 of their 40 regular season home games at Cincinnati Gardens.
The AHL's 69th season will once again comprise a total of 1,120 games, with each of the 28 member teams playing an unbalanced 80-game schedule (40 home, 40 road), weighted towards teams playing the majority of their games within their division and conference.
The Mighty Ducks will again compete in the West Division of the AHL's Western Conference, along with the Chicago Wolves, Grand Rapids Griffins, Houston Aeros, Milwaukee Admirals, San Antonio Rampage and Utah Grizzlies. Cincinnati will play 10 games (five home, five road) against Chicago and Grand Rapids and eight games (four home, four road) against Houston, Milwaukee, San Antonio and Utah.
Eight of the Mighty Ducks non-divisional games will be played against the Cleveland Barons (four home, four road), while the eighth-year franchise will face the Hamilton Bulldogs, Manitoba Moose, Philadelphia Phantoms and Toronto Roadrunners four times (two home, two road) each.
Cincinnati will meet the Rochester Americans and Syracuse Crunch, top affiliate for the NHL Columbus Blue Jackets, twice (one home, one road) during the regular season.
The Mighty Ducks 2004-05 regular season schedule will be announced later this summer.
