Traditional Rivalries Heat Up Wolf Pack Schedule

Hartford, July 6, 2004 - The American Hockey League released its schedule format today. The Pack will play a total of 52 games against Atlantic Division rivals - Lowell, Manchester, Portland and Worcester eight times each, while facing Springfield and Providence ten times. They'll face East Division teams in 20 contests - Bridgeport ten times, and Albany, Hershey, Norfolk, Philadelphia and Wikes-Barre/Scranton twice each. In addition, Hartford will face-off against three West Division teams in the 2004-05 season: Houston and San Antonio twice and Utah four times. The Pack will not face a North Division team during the regular season.

Teams will play a total of 1,120 regular season games in this, the 69th season of the AHL. Each of the league's 28 member clubs will play an unbalanced 80-game schedule with 40 home and 40 road games.

The regular season will begin Wednesday, October 13, and conclude on Sunday, April 17.

The AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack hockey club is part of Madison Square Garden LP. Cablevision Systems Corporation owns a controlling interest in MSG LP, which also includes the New York Rangers (NHL), New York Knicks (NBA), the New York Liberty (WNBA), the MSG Network, Fox Sports Net and the Madison Square Garden arena complex.
