Fresno Grizzlies News Release
FRESNO, CA - The Fresno Grizzlies will work with Community Regional Medical Center and other community partners on August 16th to raise awareness and much-needed funds for Community Regional's Terry's House project. The series opener with the Las Vegas 51's will give fans an opportunity to contribute in many ways at Chukchansi Park.
Community Regional Medical Center is home to the only Level 1 trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento, and is on the leading edge of medical innovation in the San Joaquin Valley. Since the facility serves a 15,000 square mile service area, patients and their loved ones come from many miles away to travel the road to recovery.
Terry's House, once completed, will offer convenient and affordable lodging for families while their loved ones receive critical care. The planned 17,000 square foot facility will be within walking distance of the main entrance of Community Regional. The construction of this important project is entirely dependent upon private gifts and contributions. The development has already been lifted from blueprints closer to reality through generous gifts from Tom Richards, Bank of America, and Lennar Homes.
The Fresno Grizzlies will join the cause on August 16th when the club opens a series with a Saturday game against Las Vegas. In addition to educating the Chukchansi Park faithful throughout the night, a silent auction will be conducted on the concourse with 100% of the proceeds going to Terry's House. Additionally, funds generated through a special pre-sale of tickets will be donated in total.
"Community Regional Medical Center has done great things for the City of Fresno, and the Central Valley, and this project is the next step in critical care in this region," said Grizzlies' Executive Vice President Mike Maiorana. "It's important for our community to support worthwhile initiatives like this and we're thrilled to be able to contribute to the education of the community, and hopefully the completion of this goal."
The Grizzlies will welcome the Las Vegas 51's, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, to Chukchansi Park on Saturday, August 16th. For more information about Terry's House, tickets, promotions, and Grizzlies baseball, visit FresnoGrizzlies.com or call 559.320.HITS.
