Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. â The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Friday signed right wing Robin Bouchard to a professional tryout.
An 11-year veteran who has spent most of his last nine seasons with the Muskegon Fury, Bouchard currently leads the United Hockey League scoring race with 72 points (31-41â72) in 52 contests. His 15 power play goals also pace the circuit, while his 31 goals (T2nd) and 41 assists (T5th) rank among the league's best.
The 31-year-old Bouchard, Muskegon's all-time leading scorer, won the UHL's scoring title (55-65â120) in 2003-04 and set a pro hockey record with a 17-game goal-scoring streak. His four Colonial Cup championships â including three with the Fury â tie former Griffin Bruce Ramsay for the most in UHL history.
Bouchard is expected to make his AHL debut tonight when the Griffins host the Utah Grizzlies at 7:30.
