SYRACUSE, NY - Brad Moran had two goals and an assist to help the Syracuse Crunch defeat the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 6-1, Friday at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
Francois Beauchemin, Alexandre Svitov, Mike Pandolfo and Prestin Ryan also scored for the Crunch, who had three power-play goals and a shorthanded tally. Mike Hartigan chipped in with a pair of assists.
Karl Goerhing stopped 29 shots in the win Syracuse, which has earned points in nine of its last 11 games (8-2-1-0).
Tomas Malec scored a power-play goal 1:05 into the first period for Cincinnati, which fell to 1-6-1-0 in its last eight road games.
Frederic Cassivi surrendered four goals on 18 shots before being pulled in favor of Ilya Bryzgalov in the third period.
The Ducks and Crunch complete a two-game series in Syracuse Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
