GRAND RAPIDS, MI - Nikas Kronwall had a goal and two assists as the Grand Rapids held on to defeat the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks, 4-3, Friday at Van Andel Arena.
Brent Kelly, Jiri Hudler and Eric Himelfarb also scored and Eric Manlow for the Griffins, who moved to within three points of Cincinnati for one of the final two playoff spots in the West Division with two games left to play.
Drew MacIntyre stopped 27 shots in the win for Grand Rapids, which snapped a two-game losing streak.
Kurtis Foster scored twice and Joffrey Lupul had a goal and an assist for the Ducks, who had a three-game winning streak halted.
Frederic Cassivi stopped 24 shots for Cincinnati, which suffered just its third regulation loss in its last 11 games away from home (7-3-0-1).
The Ducks play Milwaukee Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at Cincinnati Gardens.
