
Griffins Announce Preseason Slate

Grand Rapids, MI - The Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League on Wednesday announced their 2002-03 preseason schedule.
After opening their seventh training camp on Monday, Sept. 30, the Griffins will play a pair of preseason games on the road the following weekend. On Friday, Oct. 4, they'll face the Milwaukee Admirals in an 8:12 p.m. EDT start at the Mullett Ice Center in Hartland, Wis. They'll complete their brief schedule on Saturday, Oct. 5 against the Chicago Wolves at The Edge Ice Arena in Lake Barrington, Ill. Game time is 8:10 p.m. EDT. The Griffins will open the 2002-03 regular season, their first as the primary affiliate of the Stanley Cup champion Detroit Red Wings, on Saturday, Oct. 12, when the Cleveland Barons visit Van Andel Arena at 7:30 p.m.
Griffins full season and mini-plan ticket packages, all of which include the 2002 Red & White Game featuring the Red Wings on Sept. 19, are currently on sale through the team's office at (800) 2-HOCKEY. Single game tickets will go on sale at a to-be-determined date in mid-September.
