Houston Aeros News Release
HOUSTON - Houston Aeros President and General Manager Dave Barr announced today that the club has signed left wing Jeremy Stevenson to an American Hockey League contract. "Jeremy is a strong, tough forward who will create space for his teammates on the ice. He'll also contribute to the offense while playing a regular shift," said Barr.
Stevenson, 28, has played the last two seasons primarily as a member of the Milwaukee Admirals of the American and International Hockey Leagues totaling 28 goals and 20 assists for 48 points in 113 games while adding 454 penalty minutes. During that time, the San Bernardino, California native also appeared in 12 games with the National Hockey League's Nashville Predators and scored one goal with 48 penalty minutes.
In his career, Stevenson has played 68 NHL games, totaling 4-6-10 and 182 penalty minutes with Nashville and the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. The eight-year veteran has spent the majority of his career in the AHL where he has collected 51-43-94 and 829 penalty minutes in 211 games, mainly with Baltimore and Cincinnati. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Also, Barr announced the Aeros' ninth training camp will start on Monday, September 30 at the Aerodrome Ice Skating Complex in Sugar Land, Texas. The 2002-03 team will hit the ice for the first time that afternoon in preparation for two preseason games versus the San Antonio Rampage on Friday and Saturday, October 4 and 5.
