Hershey Bears News Release
HERSHEY â The HERSHEY Bears announced today that Dave Mishkin, the club's radio and television voice for the past eight seasons, is the new radio play-by-play broadcaster for the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning. Mishkin, who also has served as the Bears' Manager of Hockey Operations, will be departing for Tampa in two weeks.
"Central Pennsylvania hockey fans and the entire HERSHEY Bears' family will miss Dave Mishkin very much," stated Bears' President and General Manager Doug Yingst. "But this is a tremendous opportunity for him to pursue his dream of broadcasting in the NHL. We know that Lightning fans will enjoy his call of the game as much as our fans have over the last eight years."
Mishkin joined the Bears prior to the 1994-95 season and has called over 700 regular season and playoff games for the Chocolate and White. Including his three seasons as the voice of the ECHL's Johnstown Chiefs (1991-94), Mishkin has broadcast nearly 1,000 professional games.
The Bears will begin a search for a new play-by-play announcer immediately.
