
Flames Sign Two

Saint John, NB â The Saint John Flames announced today the signing of 22-year-old forward Matt Doman and 21-year-old defenceman Tim Branham to American Hockey League contracts.
Doman collected 23 points (11 goals, 12 assists) and 68 penalty minutes in 38 games with the University of Wisconsin Badgers last season before making his professional debut with Saint John where he registered one assist in six games with the Flames. The 5'11", 205 lb native of Crystal Lake, Illinois was Calgary's fifth round selection, 135th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft.
Branham skated with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League during the 2001-02 season collecting 21 points (4 goals, 17 assists) and 66 penalty minutes in 61 games. The 6'2", 195 lb native of Eagle River, Wisconsin was the Vancouver Canucks third round draft selection, 93rd overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The 2002-03 season marks the Saint John Flames' tenth as a member of the AHL and as the primary development organization of the National Hockey League's Calgary Flames.
