Lexington Legends News Release

Greenville starter Dedgar Jimenez allowed two runs in six and two-thirds innings, and the Drive scored two runs in the third and two more in the sixth on their way to a 4-2 win over the Lexington Legends Friday night in Greenville, South Carolina.

Lexington's runs came on solo homers by Wander Franco in the fourth inning and Brandon Downes in the seventh.

Greenville's Bryan Hudson drew a leadoff walk in the bottom of the third. He stole second base, moved to third on a base hit by J.T. Watkins and scored on a double by Joseph Monge. Watkins later scored on a ground out by Michael Chavis.

Franco's homer, his ninth of the season, cut Greenville's margin to one in the fourth, but the Drive took a 4-1 lead in the sixth on a double by Javier Guerra, a run-scoring single by Mike Meyers, a stolen base and a single by Watkins.

Downes, who had three hits in four at bats, led off the seventh with his eighth home run of the year to close out the scoring.

Jimenez (6-7) got the win, and Kuehl McEachern, who pitched the final two and one-third innings, picked up his eighth save.

Legends starter Scott Blewett (2-4), who worked the first five innings, was the losing pitcher.

Each team has won one game in the four-game series, which continues Saturday night. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
