Rome, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets defeated the Rome Braves Friday night 5-3 at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 2,727.
Augusta grabbed an early 1-0 lead with a run in the second on a Dylan Davis (5th) solo shot to left. The GreenJackets took a 2-0 lead with another run in the fifth on Aranis Garcia's sacrifice fly RBI. In the bottom of the inning Rome made it a 2-1 game on an RBI groundout by Omar Obregon to score a run. Augusta added three runs in the ninth but Rome wasn't finished. The Braves scored twice in the bottom of the inning on a passed ball to score a run and Obregon's RBI single but Augusta was able to hang on for the 5-3 win.
Mark Reyes (6-4) gets the win while Oriel Caicedo (3-6) is tagged with the loss. Raymundo Montero got his eighth save of the season.
