(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) Nick Longhi went four-for-four and drove in four runs, and Jake Drehoff, Brandon Show and Michael Gunn teamed up for a seven-hit shutout as the Greenville Drive blanked the Lexington Legends 15-0 Sunday afternoon in front of 5,067 fans at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.
Greenville scored four runs in the third inning, two coming on a homer by Rafael Devers.
The Drive added five runs in the fifth inning. Cisco Tellez drew a leadoff walk and scored on a triple by Mike Meyers. Meyers came home on a base hit by Mauricio Dubon. The next two batters were retired, but former Northern Kentucky University star Jordan Procyshen kept the inning going with a single, and Longhi followed with a three-run homer to give the Drive a 9-0 lead.
Longhi hit a run-scoring single in the seventh to make the score 10-0, and Dubon's three -run homer in the eighth gave Greenville a 13-0 margin.
After Longhi led off the ninth with a single, Javier Guerra homered to right field to complete the scoring.
Show (1-0), who entered the game at the start of the fourth inning in relief of Drehoff, got the win in his first appearance since being added to the Greenville roster. He pitched four innings and allowed two hits and no runs. Michael Gunn worked the eighth and ninth for Greenville.
Legends starter Nik Stephenson (1-4) was the losing pitcher.
Greenville won three out of four games in the series.
The Legends will go on the road for three games in Rome and four in Augusta. Game time Monday night in Rome is 7 p.m.
