Greensboro Swarm Fall Short Against The Long Island Nets

(GREENSBORO, N.C.) - The Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, suffered a 119-96 defeat to the Long Island Nets (Brooklyn Nets affiliate) on Fridayat the Novant Health Fieldhouse. The Swarm was led by Kobi Simmons who scored a season-high 29 points on 8-of-13 shooting and grabbed 9 rebounds.

The Nets (1-4) picked up their first win of the 2022-23 season and commanded a double-digit lead for much of the contest.

Long Island's Chris Chiozza earned a double-double with 13 points and 17 assists, a G League season-high. In addition, the Nets were powered by double-digits points from seven players such as Jordan Bowden (20), Aldones Williams (19), Kaiser Gates (14), Donovan Williams (13), RaiQuan Gray (12), Kameron Hankeson (12) and Kavion Pippen (12).

For Greensboro (2-4), Simmons continued his recent scoring hot-streak and earned his fourth game with 25-plus points. Additionally, the Swarm had two other players with 10-plus point performances in Jalen Crutcher (19) and Ty-Shon Alexander (17). Alexander made his first start for the Swarm after missing the last game due to injury. Greensboro's Isaiah Whaley crashed the boards all evening and recorded a game-high 14 rebounds.

The Swarm and Nets meet again on Saturday November 19, at 7:00 p.m. ET at the Novant Health Fieldhouse.
