Rome, GA - The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Rome Braves 4-3 Tuesday night in front of 2,775 fans at State Mutual Stadium. With the loss, Rome falls to 3-3 in the second half.

The Braves took the early lead 1-0 in the first inning when Kyle Rose led off with a bunt single then stole second and later came home on a Todd Cunningham RBI groundout. Rome would add another run in the second after Braeden Schlehuber singled and scored on a throwing error by Chris Wade on a Rose groundball.

Greensboro would cut the lead to 2-1 in the third inning after Rand Smith tripled then scored on a wild pitch from Robinson Lopez. The Grasshoppers took a 3-2 lead in the sixth on a single from Carlos Paulino followed by RBI singles from Justin Bass and Kyle Jensen that would plate Paulion and Bass.

The Braves tied the game at 3-3 in the seventh inning when Matt Weaver singled and later scored on a Cunningham RBI single. The Hoppers broke the tie in the eighth when Bass reached on a Jordan Kreke throwing error followed by a Jensen triple for the 4-3 final score.

Arquimedes Caminero (3-1) picks up the win for Greensboro while Rome's David Hale (1-7) gets the loss. Alejandro Ramos (16) gets the save for the Grasshoppers. Rome takes on Greensboro again tomorrow at afternoon at 1pm for the second game of the series.
