Augusta GreenJackets News Release

North Augusta, SC: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of San Francisco Giants, won 5-1 against the Kannapolis Intimidators on Wednesday night. A doubleheader was first schedule for tonight, but with rain in the forecast, the game was changed to a single nine inning game. The final game of this series will be made up on August 23rd at 5:35 pm, as part of a doubleheader when the Intimidators return to SRP Park.

The GreenJackets got out to an early lead in the first inning. Heliot Ramos tripled into the right field corner to score Malique Ziegler from second base. Next a sacrifice fly from Manuel Geraldo would score Ramos from third base. This would give the GreenJackets the early 2-0 heading into the second inning.

The Intimidators would get one back in the top of the third inning to make the score 2-1. This would stay the score until the bottom of the seventh inning, when the GreenJackets would extend their lead. With Orlando Garcia at second and Ryan Kirby at third, Trevor Abrams would single to center field to score both.

The GreenJackets would add one more in the top of the eighth and would go on to take the victory 5-2, after the Intimidators put up a run in the top of the ninth inning.

Augusta (14-23) will now head to West Virginia for a four-game series with the Power. First pitch in West Virginia will be at 7:05 pm.

After the roadtrip, the GreenJackets will be back for a three-game series with the Hagerstown Suns. Promotions include, North Augusta Community Night, Richmond County Community Night, and Live Heathly night.
