AUGUSTA, GA: GreenJackets pitcher LHP Nick Gonzalez bounced back from his first start of the year with a impressive four innings of work. Gonzalez allowed just one run and struck out five during Tuesday night's contest against the visiting Charleston RiverDogs. The GreenJackets led at most by three runs during the night to see a eighth and ninth inning rally prove to be enough to give Charleston the five to four win.

The GreenJackets struck first in the bottom of the second inning when Andrew Cain tripled on a line drive to center field that scored Jonah Arendo. Cain later scored in the inning by a RBI single to right field by Randy Ortiz.

Charleston's bats did not stay quiet for long. In the top of the fourth Allen Valerio reached on a fielding error by GreenJackets left fielder Andrew Cain that allowed Eudardo de Oleo to score to bring the game to two to one in favor of the GreenJackets.

GreenJackets RHP Nathanael Santiago came into the game in the fifth inning and dominated two innings of relief work. Santiago struck out three Charleston batters and only allowed one hit. In the bottom of the seventh inning, Randy Ortiz got things going again for the GreenJackets with a lead off walk and a successful steal of second base. Ortiz scored on a RBI double by second baseman Travious Relaford. Relaford later scored on a ground ball hit by GreenJackets shortstop Jeremy Sy. The GreenJackets ended the seventh inning with a lead of four to one.

In top of the eighth inning GreenJackets right-handed relief pitcher Ramon Del Orbe ran into trouble when Del Orbe allowed a two run RBI double by Connor Spencer cut the GreenJackets lead to just one run. Eduardo de Oleo then singled on a ground ball to left field and a throwing error by left fielder Andrew Cain allowed Spencer to score to tie the game at four. GreenJackes manager Nestor Rojas then went to his bullpen to LHP Carlos Diaz who was able to get the two last remaining outs of the top of the eighth inning to keep the scored tied at four.

In the bottom of the eighth inning Jonah Arenado was able to connect for a two out single but the GreenJackets were not able to pick up any momentum after Arenado's hit. At the top of the ninth inning RiverDogs right fielder Brandon Thomas led off with a single to left field. A sacrifice bunt by Jose Javier allowed Thomas to reach second base, setting Thomas in scoring position with only one out. Abiatal Avelin came to the plate and hit a high chopping ground ball to GreenJackets shortstop Jeremy Sy who misjudged the ball and allowed Thomas to score the go ahead and to be winning run of the game for the Charleston RiverDogs.
