The Augusta Greenjackets came from behind twice to beat the Lexington Legends 9-7 Saturday night in Augusta. Lexington opened up a 6-0 lead in the second inning. The Legends sent 10 men to the plate and had seven hits in the inning, including a two-run homer by Phil Disher and a three-run homer by Albert Cartwright. Lexington starter Jordan Lyles shut out the Greenjackets through four innings, but with two out in the fifth, Johnny Monell doubled, Juan Perez tripled and James Simmons homered to make it 6-3. After a 36-minute rain delay at the end of the sixth inning, Augusta rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the seventh. With Jose Trinidad pitching for Lexington, walks to Monell and Simmons and a double by Ehire Adrianza brought home one run to make it 6-4. After a walk to Wendell Fairley loaded the bases, Jack Tilghman relieved Trinidad. Josh Mazzola's two-run single tied the game. The Legends took a 7-6 lead in the top of the eighth when Disher's two-out single scored Russell Dixon, who had reached on a fielder's choice. But Augusta came back again in the bottom of the eighth. A single by Monell, a stolen base by Ben Woodbury, who ran for Monell, and a double by Juan Perez tied the score again. Simmons then singled home Perez, and later scored on a passed ball to give Augusta a 9-7 margin. Daniel Runzler earned his third save by pitching a scoreless ninth. The two teams meet again Sunday at 2:05 p.m.
