CHARLESTON, WV: Derek Norris homered for the second game in a row and Marcos Frias pitched five strong innings as the Hagerstown Suns (9-11) won their fourth consecutive game on Saturday, 6-3 over the West Virginia Power (6-17).

The Suns got off to a great start with a four-run top of the first inning, highlighted by Norris' fifth home run of the season. Shortstop Jose Lozada started the game off with a double to left field before second baseman Steve Lombardozzi was hit by a pitch. Norris then hit a two-strike pitch over the left field wall off Power starting pitcher Rudy Owens (3-1).

After left fielder Aaron Seuss walked, third baseman Steven Souza doubled to center field, driving in Seuss and giving the Suns a 4-0 lead.

Owens took the loss for West Virginia after only lasting one inning for the Power, giving up three hits and one walk.

The Power closed the gap with one run in the bottom of the first along with an unearned run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Frias pitched five innings and earned his first win of the season, striking out six batters and surrendering two runs, only one earned.

The Suns extended their lead with runs in the top of the seventh and eighth innings.

Chris Lugo pitched three innings of relief for the Suns, striking out four and not allowing a run. Justin Phillabaum pitched the ninth inning for Hagerstown, and surrendered just one unearned run.

The Suns will go for the series sweep on Sunday, with a 2:05 game at Appalachian Power park in Charleston.

After an off-day on Monday, the Suns will return to Municipal Stadium on Tuesday for a four-game series against the Greensboro Grasshoppers. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 pm.
