LOUISVILLE, KY. - Reds rehabber Sonny Gray fanned four in 3.0 shutout innings and Brantley Bell doubled home a pair of runs as part of a four-score second frame to lift the Louisville Bats to a 6-1 win over the Indianapolis Indians Saturday night at Louisville Slugger Field.

The win secures at least a series split with the Tribe, and the Bats will seek their second overall series victory of 2021 during Sunday afternoon's series finale with Indianapolis.

Gray struggled to find the zone in the first inning, issuing a pair of walks and plunking Jared Oliva with a pitch. However, the former first-round pick whiffed back-to-back batters to escape the inning en route to retiring eight of his last nine hitters faced.

Narciso Crook and Michael De Leon singled to open the second inning and put two on for Bell, who smoked a grounder down the third-base line that kicked off the bag to roll all the way into the outfield. After Crook and De Leon scored, Mallex Smith check-swung a ball barely into fair territory to left field to score Bell and Rocky Gale and make the score 4-0.

Will Craig homered for Indy in the sixth. Aside from Craig's bomb to center field, previously-scheduled-starter-turned-reliever Bo Takahashi effectively navigated 4.0 frames to earn the win. Takahashi made 92 consecutive starts in his career prior to ending that streak with tonight's relief outing.

Alejo Lopez went hitless to snap his hitting streak at 13 consecutive games.

The Bats and Indians will conclude their six-game series Sunday at 1 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field. Reds rehabber RHP Jeff Hoffman (0-0, 0.00) will take the mound for Louisville.
