Grasshoppers Take First Game of Home Series against the BlueClaws, 7-5

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Greensboro Grasshoppers take the first game of its home series against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, 7-5. The Grasshoppers moved to 17-11 on the season while the BlueClaws fell to 12-12. Each team tallied nine hits as the BlueClaws had three errors.

Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was Jase Bowen going 2-4 with one home run, a double, four RBI, and one run scored. Hudson Head followed close behind going 2-3 with one run scored. Jackson Glenn, Tsung-Che Cheng, and Wyatt Hendrie also each recorded a double.

Starting on the mound for Greensboro was righthanded pitcher Valentin Linarez who tallied two strikeouts and gave up five hits, three earned runs, and two free bases on three innings of work. Grant Ford took the win for the Grasshoppers and moved to 2-0 on the season. Michell Miliano recorded his second hold while Will Kobos tallied his first save.

Starting pitcher for the BlueClaws, Gabriel Cotto, took the loss for Jersey Shore and fell to 0-2 on the season.
