
Grasshoppers Defeat the Blue Rocks 6-3 and Take Series Win

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Wilmington Blue Rocks, 6-3 on Sunday, June 11 and took the series win. The Grasshoppers improved to 31-24 while the Blue Rocks fell to 26-30 as Wilmington outhit Greensboro 10-6.
Leading at the dish for the Grasshoppers was infielder Tsung-Che Cheng as he hit s .307 with one hit and one run scored. Sammy Siani and Shawn Ross both tallied home runs for Greensboro while Will Matthiessen, Wyatt Hendrie, and Luke Brown also recorded hits.
Starting on the mound for Greensboro was lefthanded pitcher Anthony Solometo as he tallied seven strikeouts and gave up only five hits in four innings of work. Grant Ford recorded the win for the Grasshoppers and improved to 4-0 on the season as Cy Nielson tallied his seventh save.
Thomas Ruwe took the loss for the Blue Rocks for his first of the season.
