Asheville Tourists News Release
ABERDEEN - One day after falling to the Aberdeen IronBirds by ten runs, the Asheville Tourists were on the wrong side of another one-sided affair. Aberdeen held Asheville to only four hits and Jud Fabian drove in five runs for the home team. The Tourists fell by a final score of 8-3.
Logan Cerny gave the Tourists a 1-0 lead with a solo Home Run in the top of the first inning. It was Cerny's seventh Home Run of the year.
Miguel Ullola retired the first eight IronBirds hitters he faced; however, the Tourists righty ran into trouble with two outs in the third. After allowing a double, Fabian hit a two-run Homer to put the home team on top. Ullola then surrendered three more runs in the fourth. The IronBirds added another off Carlos Calderon and led 6-1 after four.
Joey Mancini pitched the final four innings for Asheville and did a nice job. Mancini limited the Aberdeen offense to two runs. Asheville received RBI groundouts from Justin Williams and Kobe Kato down the stretch to account for the remainder of their offense.
Next up for Asheville is a six-game series at Winston-Salem that will begin on Tuesday night at 7:00pm ET.
