Grand Prairie Stays Perfect against X's

Grand Prairie, TX-----For the second consecutive night, Grand Prairie rallied late to defeat the Explorers 8-7 here Wednesday. A two-run home run by Bryan Frichter in the eighth inning spelled defeat for the Explorers.

The AirHogs came back from a 7-2 deficit as the Explorers had built a five run lead going into the sixth inning. The Explorers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a lead off walk to Brandon Newton and a double by Wally Backman followed by a sacrifice fly RBI by Kris Sanchez.

Grand Prairie tied the game in the third scoring two unearned runs. The Explorers took the lead again in the fourth inning highlighted by a two-run home run by Yuske Inoguchi, his second home of the season. After a two-out walk to Ryan Priddy and an error on the Grand Prairie pitcher Jake Cowan, Priddy went to second and scored on a single by Brian Bistange and the Explorers led 5-2.

Sioux City would add single runs in the fifth and sixth innings and took a 7-2 lead. In the bottom of the sixth inning, Grand Prairie would send nine batters to the plate where they would score four runs to cut the Explorers lead to 7-6.

In the eighth, Kenny Held led off the inning with a double and Frichter would follow with the two-run home run which would be the game winner as the Explorers have lost all five games played against Grand Prairie this season.

The final game of the three-game series will be play Thursday with game time 7:05 at QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie.
