Gorillas to host New Mexico Tomorrow night come off four point weekend

AMARILLO, TX -- The Amarillo Gorillas notched their first four point weekend of the Central Hockey League season and with that are just two games below .500 heading into this week's action.

The Gorillas defeated the Wichita Thunder 3-1 on Friday night at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center. Derek Hahn lead the way with two goals, including one on a penalty shot. Kelly Miller had the other Gorillas goal. Goaltender Shawn Degagne was outstanding making some huge stops to preserve the win.

The following the night, Ryan Shannon's blast in overtime propelled the Gorillas to a 2-1 overtime win over the Thunder at Kansas Coliseum. Patrick Levesque had the other Gorillas goal in the second period and Shawn Degagne was splendid between the pipes.

The Gorillas record sits at 6-8-2 and now get set to host the New Mexico Scorpions tomorrow night (Tuesday) at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center at 7 p.m. It is KAMR-NBC 4 night and it should be another exciting game as these two rivals will go toe-to-toe.

Tomorrow's game can be heard live on 1440 Am the Score beginning with the Farmer's Insurance Group Warm Up Show at 6:40 p.m. Amarillo Gorillas Hockey Presented By Bank of America follows at 7 p.m. The game is also available on the world wide web at www.amarillogorillas.com or www.chltv.com.
